Burg, Donald

Donald William Burg, age 69 of Hockley, TX passed away July 26, 2009.

Donald is survived by his wife, Lois Burg; sons, Douglas Walter Burg and wife Melissa Ann, and William Thomas Burg; daughters, Donna Leigh Schepis and husband Rich of Harleysville, PA, Katie Agnes Burg, and Alison Marie Burg; brother, Carl R. Burg and wife Barbara of Baytown, TX; aunt, Brenda Raffensberger and husband Jimmy of Red Lion, PA; granddaughters, Hannah Landes, Megan Henson, and Thea Burg; mother-in-law, Dorothy L. Walker; numerous brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and other family members.

Visitation was held on Thursday, July 30, 2009 from 5 to 8 pm at Canon Funeral Home Chapel, with remembrances facilitated by Deacon Jo Mignogna from 7 to 8pm.

Funeral Services were conducted on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 11:00 am at All Faith Chapel in Prairie View, TX with Reverend Charles Washington officiating. Interment followed at Macedonia Cemetery.

Donald lived to be 69 years, 7 months and 25 days old.

Beard, Ethylene Clepper

Ethylene Clepper Beard, age 67 of Hockley, Texas, passed from this life on January 30, 2011.

Lifelong resident of Houston and 1961 Honors graduate from Smiley High School. She was a retired business executive with Southwestern Bell Telephone and successful business owner recognized by Who’s Who Among US Executives, Who’s Who Among Female Executives and 2000 Notable Women. Former Chapter President – American Business Woman’s Association and Chairperson with C.R.I.M.E., Inc.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Wesley Clepper and Clara Ada Johnson Smith; and two brothers, Cecil and Harvey.

She is survived by son, Gregory Beard; daughter, Gayla Beard Sturm and husband Jim; brothers Ventis (Vince) Clepper and wife Pat, Ellis Clepper and wife Lois; sisters, Verlie Clepper Brown and husband James, Susan Clepper Sutton and husband Hilton; Grandchildren Blake, Keely & Micah Sturm and Hallie & Leilani Beard.

Visitation was held on Friday, February 4 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Canon Funeral Home in Waller, Texas.

Funeral Services were conducted on Saturday, February 5, 10 am at The Church at Friendship in Hockley, Texas with Pastor Michael Sturgeon and Dr. Hilton Sutton officiating.

Interment followed at Macedonia Cemetery.

Butler, Dottie Jane

Dottie Jane Butler was born January 15, 1926, in Woodville, Tx to Joe Thomas
and Iola Butler.

She went to be with Jesus on November 8, 2017, at the age of 91. Dottie graduated
from Kirby high school in Woodville, Tx in 1944. She continued her education at
the Western Union School in Springfield, Missouri where she graduated as a
counter clerk in 1946.
Starting in 1948 she began working in the Nabisco factory in Houston Tx, were
she worked for 42 years.
After retirement she was close to and helped care for Lois and Ellis Clepper’s
children while Lois worked.
She was an active member of the Nabisco Retiree Club and even attended
meetings this year.
Dottie Butler loved the Lord and was a member of Faith Assembly of God
Church in Houston TX for decades and more recently began attending Champion
Cowboy Church in Hockley TX.
She loved fishing, gardening, sewing, baking, cooking, traveling and spending
time with family.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents; Joe Thomas Butler and Iola Segrest
Butler, and siblings; Essie Ola Butler, Clara Izora Wheat, Tommy Lewis Butler,
Esther Belle Denham, Harriet Lucille Lazenby, Avis Marie Biscamp and James
Richard Butler, and niece Anna Lois Clepper and special friend Robert Pfeffer.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and
even some great great nieces and great great nephews.
We would like to thank niece; Louise Stewart, and great nieces; Tonia Brown &
Leanne Kuciemba,
and the many caregivers at Heartis and Compassionate Care Hospice for their
dedicated care of Dottie for the past few months.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM on Friday, November
10, 2017 at Klein Funeral Home in Magnolia.

Butcher, Patricia Ruth Holder

Patricia Ruth Holder Butcher was born in South Houston on May 18, 1940.
She had a premature birth and challenging neurological issues to overcome,
yet she did so and proved to be a profoundly intelligent child. She was a
talented musician with the ability to play complete songs on the piano after
only hearing them and also became a member of the Texas All-State Choir
as a Soprano her senior year of high School.
She was a graduate of Pasadena High School in 1958 and later Massey
Business College yet gave up her career for marriage and to raise two boys.
After her divorce, she moved back to Texas with her boys in 1976 to live
with her foster parents Harry and Iva Breneman.
She began to work in Food Service with Tomball I.S.D. and retired after
many years of service for the district. Patricia was an active member of First
Baptist Church, Tomball and was a singer in the sanctuary choir. She was a
member of the Tomball Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #838 and was a
frequent pianist of the order.
She was a beloved resident at Brookdale Champion Senior Living. She
loved the church services, singing, and bible study. She loved to read about
and watch television programs on religion, esoteric matters and lost
civilizations. She loved her savior Jesus Christ and she leaned on Him until
He finally called her home.

Baker, Frances Lenora Sullivan

Frances “Sissy” Lenora Sullivan Baker, age 79, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019, in Tomball, Texas. She was born on June 25, 1940, in Houston. Sissy was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Nettie and Raymond Menn; father, Odell Sullivan; sisters, Virginia Jones and her husband Finis, and Joan Marie Fowlkes and her husband Byron; and her nephew, Gary Kubala. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, William Baker of Houston; nephew, Jerry Jones and wife Debbie of Tomball; nephew, Ronald Jones of Houston; niece, Sharon McFarland and husband Ray of Brenham; niece,
Diane Fields of Spring; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to so many wonderful people that assisted Sissy and Bill, as well as the entire family, throughout these difficult times. To the following people, we can never thank you enough; to those of you who came to visit and pray with Sissy, we are so grateful; and, to all of you from Lindale Assembly of God, some of whom may have been missed below, we are forever grateful….may God bless….we love you dearly. Baker, William Alfred “Bill”

February 21, 1940 – January 3, 2021

William Alfred Baker, often known as Bill, was born in Houston, TX on February 21, 1940, to Vernon and Mary Ellen Baker, and entered into eternal rest on January 3, 2021, at the age of 80. William graduated from Sam Houston High school, in Houston, and worked the majority of his life in the finance industry. He treasured 57 years of marriage to Frances Sullivan Baker, who passed away in 2019. He was a member of Decker Prairie Church Of Christ. He enjoyed saltwater fishing and traveling; and some of his fondest memories were of trips to the Ozark mountains. He is survived by his nephew Jerry Jones and wife Debbie of Tomball; niece Sharon McFarland and husband Ray of Independence, nephew Ron Jones of Houston, Diane Fields and husband John of Magnolia, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
