Chapman, Sheila Kay Askew

January 31, 1956 – March 24, 2019

Sheila Kay Chapman of Hockley, Texas passed away at age 63 on March 24, 2019, at her
residence.
She was born to the late Whorley Thomas Askew and Helen Juanita Kowis on January
31, 1956 in Houston, Texas.
Sheila, known affectionately by those who loved and adored her as Nannie, spent most of her life in the Magnolia area.
For many years Sheila worked for the Magnolia Independent School District where she
was an important and integral part of many children’s lives in the community. Her
compassion, servant heart and gentle soul will forever live on in the hearts and minds of the many lives she touched. Upon retiring Sheila enjoyed travelling, taking care of her
poodle Scotty, spending time with friends and making memories with her family whom she cherished.
Sheila is survived by three daughters: Michelle Avizenis, Tanya Jett and Kristy Chapman.
One sister, Sherry Wallin. Two Sons in Law: Anthony Avizenis and David Jett. She is also
survived by eight grandchildren, Makinze, Dreyvan, Christian, Devan, Brendan, Alexis,
Braxton and Leigh. Sheila is also survived by several children that she helped raise and
loved like her very own: Scott Carroll, Jessika Hernandez, Chris Lilly and Jennifer Dent.
Sheila was predeceased by her son James Michael Chapman.
Sheila was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind a trail of beautiful memories
